Integration with PocketShield:

Volumex can integrate with PocketShield (only versions 2.8 or higher) to run both as a single process, giving some benefits as lower RAM usage and resources optimization. Integration will also allow you to see if you have any pending volume reminder, an icon will be shown in PocketShield's screen and also compatible with Notifications Booster.

Note if you use both PocketShield and Volumex:

Usage:

Usage is very simple and straight forward. You can access Volumex by either:

- Pressing volume hard keys
- By typing the volume icon in taskbar (if you enabled that featuer in Settings)

1) Main volume screen: Opened by pressing the volume hardware keys or by tapping the volume icon. Roll your mouse over the buttons to know the actions:

Roll your mouse over the buttons below

2) Volume scheduler screen: Here you can quickly change the scheduling and reminder settings. Roll your mouse over the buttons to know the actions:

3) Volume reminder screen: This screen will show if you setup to prompt before restoring to default volume. If you use it with PocketShield integration then you will see a speaker icon in your lock screen when this reminder is present. Roll your mouse over the buttons to know the actions:

Volume keys remapping

With Volumex 2.0 you can remap the following volume keys actions:

To do so, go to Volumex Settings > Volume keys, select the "..." button next to the type of key press you want to remap. A window will open showing the available options for remapping.

Note: This feature may not work in some phone models or ROMs. Contact us if any trouble with it.

Taskbar volume icon

You can also set up Volumex to open by tapping the upper taskbar volume icon. To do so, go to Volumex Settings > Volume icon and select the option. Volumex will try to auto calibrate. If calibration fails it will ask to do a manual calibration.

Outlook appointments integration:

Volumex can change your volume automatically when an appointment starts. For that you must add to the Location field of your appointment any of the following parameters:

Examples:

So 10 seconds after your appointment begins, volume will be set accordingly. After the appointment ends, your default volume will be restored automatically.

Volume stripe

When music players or video players are active, a minimal volume control will show instead as a stripe on the left side of the screen. This stripe will allow volume to be changed without stopping the music or video playing. However if you attempt to change volume using the touch screen, playing will pause. Use volume keys to keep music/video playing.

If you tap the "+" sign it will open the standard Volumex UI.

Some players are setup by default, but you can manually add any others by adding this registry setting in the following format:

HKLM\Software\JDB Pocketware\Volumex\EXCEPS = 1|App1ClassName3|App2ClassName;1|App3ClassName

You can find out the window class names with most task managers.

During calls

Volumex will let you change volume during calls, however not with its graphical interface but with the WM default volume interface.

It can also mute the system volume during calls, so you don't get bothered with reminders or alarms which go off during a call.

Known issues/limitations:

- On some ROMs the volume hardware keys will only work once after softreset. This is under investigation.
- Volume keys may not work if using other applications that deal with hardware keys.
- When enabling the "Open volumex with volume taskbar icon" the HTC TaskManager icon on home screen will disappear after saving settings. Softreset is required.
- For some Omnia ROMs which have the fullscreen wheel volume, if you want the Volume icon tap to work it must be disabled. A possible workarround is to remove the file \Windows\StartUp\VolumeControl.lnk
